I am happy to announce that Mickey Larson Law Office, PLC, recently joined the Sparta Chamber of Commerce. The Sparta Community has been amazingly welcoming and friendly, and I look forward to giving back by helping further the efforts of the Chamber in any way I can. One method of contribution that I’m already enjoying is my participation in planning and promoting the Sparta Celtic Fest. The Sparta Celtic Fest is a free, family-friendly festival that brings several thousand people to Rogers Park in Sparta for a day (and night) of Celtic music, Irish dancers, traditional Irish food and beer (served in an Irish Pub located in the Sparta Civic Center and set up by the Cellar Brewing Company just for the Festival), Liam the (World’s Largest) Leprechaun, vendors selling authentic Irish and Scottish wares, and other celebrations of Celtic heritage. The festival takes place every year on the second Saturday in August, and is often preceded by Celtic-themed events and appearances aimed at raising money to keep the festival free. This year, the Sparta Celtic Fest will take place in Rogers Park on August 10th, 2013. Fundraising events preceding the festival include appearances where Liam the World’s Largest Leprechaun and other members of the Sparta Celtic Fest Committee sell Celtic-themed buttons and provide free airbrush tattoos, as well as a Road Bowling tournament. The Road Bowling tournament will take place on July 13, 2013, in Rogers Park, with registration of four-person teams taking place at the Cellar Brewing Company from now until the morning of the tournament. Details regarding the Road Bowling tournament or the Sparta Celtic Fest can be found on posters and flyers in downtown Sparta, on the festival’s Facebook page, or on www.spartacelticfest.com. I hope to see you there!
